Hosting and server logs
This website runs on Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA); pages are served from the nearest Cloudflare data center. When you open a page, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data such as IP address, time, requested address and browser details to deliver the page and prevent abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the site securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Free check request
When you send the form, we process your website address, email address and chosen language to run the check, send you the report and answer your questions. The legal basis is pre-contractual steps taken at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Without these details we cannot send the report.
Automatic pre-check
When you enter a website address in the form and continue, our server opens that address’s homepage once and reads a few technical details from the start of the page (HTTPS, redirects, response time, page title, description, mobile viewport and search engine settings). The result is only shown to you and is not stored. To prevent abuse, your IP address is kept briefly in server memory. The legal basis is pre-contractual steps taken at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Free check report
For the website address you give in your free check request, our server prepares an automatic report: it opens the homepage and up to twelve internal links from it, reads the robots.txt and sitemap files, and sends the website address to the Google PageSpeed Insights service (Google LLC, USA) for a mobile speed measurement. Only the website address is passed to Google, not your email address. The measurement results are temporarily kept in the Cloudflare Workflows state record while the report workflow runs; the report itself is emailed to you. The legal basis is pre-contractual steps taken at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). To follow up on your request, we store request details, the report and sending/delivery status in Cloudflare D1 for 180 days, then delete them during daily automatic cleanup. We record delivery, delay, bounce and complaint notifications from the email service; we do not track opens or clicks.
We send confirmations and internal notifications through Resend (Resend, Inc., USA). Emails to hello@sitemendo.com are forwarded through Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA) to a mailbox at Google (Gmail).
Phone and WhatsApp
If you call us or write on WhatsApp, we process your details to handle your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). On WhatsApp, WhatsApp Ireland Limited also processes data under its own terms. If you prefer not to use it, reach us by email or phone.
Transfers to the USA
Cloudflare, Resend, Google and WhatsApp (Meta) may process data in the USA. Transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, and otherwise on EU standard contractual clauses (Art. 45 and 46 GDPR).
Storage in your browser
We only store your language choice (the “sitemendo.lang” cookie for one year, plus local storage) and a form draft that is deleted when you close the browser tab. This storage is strictly necessary for the functions you use (Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG). This website serves its own fonts; no data goes to Google Fonts.
How long we keep data
Requests that do not lead to an order are deleted once they are closed and no further questions are expected. If an order follows, we keep business records such as invoices for the statutory periods (usually up to ten years).
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). Write to hello@sitemendo.com.
Complaints
You can complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
No automated decisions
We make no decisions based solely on automated processing and do not create profiles (Art. 22 GDPR).
